Boating
We have 4
touring canoes, 5 kayaks and 2 paddle boats as well as paddles and
personal floatation devices. These are provided free for the use of our
guests. We also have a sailboat (Sunfish) for rent.

Kayaks
Alger Island is a state park and is
directly across the lake. Many guests like to paddle around the
Island.
Usually the mornings are calm and the afternoons
rough. The earlier in the
morning, the calmer the Lake
.

The Rules: Whenever you are boating please follow these rules:
Alcohol does not mix with boating activities: canoeing and kayaking can lead to dangerous situations: you need all your wits about you.
Wear a personal floatation device.
No motorized boats or jet skis are allowed in the swimming area
Keep speed at 5 MPH within 100 ft. of shore.
Every cottage gets one docking slip for power boats. If you have more than one power boat, it will be accommodated if there are spaces available. The slips are distributed on a first come basis.
Be considerate of the other guests and share canoes and paddleboats. They are for the pleasure of all our guests and available on a first come, first serve basis.
Dry and return life jackets to the bin provided and turn the canoes over on the grassy area near the beach when you are finished paddling. See kayaking page for similar instructions for kayaks.
Ensure that the paddle boats are securely tied to the dock after use. They tend to float away once or twice a summer and end up near Inlet. Please empty the paddle boats after use.
Report any damage to the equipment immediately (you will not be held responsible, we just want to get it fixed.)
