Cedar Chalet

The Cedar Chalet is the newest of the cottages, dating back to the 1960s, when A-frames were all the rage. It took the spot originally occupied by The Hunters Cottage which, like the Birches, dated back to the original Burnap Complex. In front of the Cedar Chalet was a lean-to or open camp used for story telling, creating plays, and delivering lectures.  The evening in the lean-to was an Adirondack tradition, and present at every Great ( and not so great) Camp.  The Adirondack Vacation was an intellectual as well as physical delight. The lean-to is gone: it was moved and then it burned. But the tradition continues at campfires all over the Adirondacks and at the Four Seasons.
