Ferd's
Bog is a great place to spend a very early morning bird watching and
listening. The DEC built a wonderful path right into the heart of the
Bog, and the stroll is only .3 of a mile. The trail begins through a
hemlock forest and then turns into the Adirondack Bog. It is also a
great place to study aquatic plants in the Adirondack Park.
How do you get there?
Take the Uncas road in Eagle Bay. The Uncas road follows the path of
the Carter Station - Raquette Lake railroad. The entrance to the trail
is approximately 3 miles up the road on the left.
